Nik Wallenda walks Baltimore

You walk around St. Armands Circle in the present day, you shop, and dine, and it’s easy to forget the rich and colorful history of this place and Sarasota in general.

But that changes when you come across a series of bronze plaques under the palms at the edge of the circle’s park center: Circus Ring of Fame. The Circle Ring of Fame honors more than 80 circus greats from all over the globe with individual bronze plaques.

All that history was fresh in our minds a few weeks ago when Sarasota’s own Nik Wallenda and his sister, Lijana, walked a highwire 25 stories above Midtown Manhattan. Nik and his family are featured in the Circus Ring of Fame as well as being true supporters of St. Armands.

So come out for the shopping, dining, people watching and general ambiance of St. Armands Circle, but remember you’re just a few steps away from some serious Sarasota history.
